Will Thiago Alcantara join United in the summer?

Thiago Alcantara is on the verge of completing a move to Manchester United on a five-year contract which represents a superb piece of business by new United boss David Moyes.

It means that Thiago will go into the current midfield alongside Shinji Kagawa, leaving United with possibly the most creative midfield duo heading into the new Premier League season.

There are several areas where the two players could dominate for Manchester United next season, with the statistics to back them up.

Real Madrid vs Manchester United. The Special One vs Sir Alex. And so the story continues…

Real Madrid vs Manchester United. The Special One vs Sir Alex. And so the story continues…

The Champions League returned last night, and while Juventus and PSG already have one foot in the quarterfinals, the colossal fixture between Real Madrid and Manchester United kicks off at the Bernabeu. It’s a truer welcome back in our mind. Ronaldo’s hair will be full of gel, Sir Alex will be wearing multiple watches, and Mourinho will certainly leave us with a memorable quote.
Before you head to your mate’s place to swoon over Özil’s eyesfootwork for Valentine’s Day, get informed about how these two sides stack up currently and throughout history.

A new beginning for Liverpool?

                    A new beginning for Liverpool?

Today Liverpool may have put in the most impressive performance we’ve seen this season. After being thrown aside at Anfield by West Brom, there were plenty of questions surrounding Brendan Rogers’ project. While we can’t speak to what Brendan may have said in the dressing room after the match on Monday, something clicked today, and it didn’t leave a trace of evidence that it was a fluke.
Phillippe Coutinho’s first Liverpool start sparked new life into the squad, and while a spot in Europe may be a reach at this point in the season, can we expect Gerrard, Suarez, and company to continue to improve? Consistency has been a real issue, especially when you consider that this was Liverpool’s first Premier League win against an opponent in the top half of the table. Where do you think Liverpool will be sitting in mid-May?

Man City is looking to buy Edinson Cavani in the summer
According to reports, City manager Roberto Mancini is determined to bolster the squad and will look to sell at least four players and in place bring in a quality star to give his squad a fresh new look.
The Uruguay international has been in tremendous form this season with 18 goals already to his name and is the leading scorer in Serie A. Napoli are only five points behind league leaders and defending champions Juventus and Cavani is spearheading their Champions League qualification hopes almost single handedly.
City were eager to buy Cavani in the January transfer window but the £52 million buy-out clause inserted in the 25-year-old’s contract proved to be a major obstacle.
Cavani has stated his intentions of playing in England in future and both the player and his club are aware of City’s deep interest and are expecting formal bids for him.
The reigning Premier League champions, who are under the scanner of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play guidance are likely to face tough competitions from Ligue 1 clubPSG and La Liga giants Real Madrid, while Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also spoken about his admiration for the player.
City possess an overwhelming array of attacking options in the trio of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko but Mancini wants to add another potent striker in the summer. They have already sold Mario Balotelli to AC Milan in the January transfer window while Bosnia international Dzeko could also make way if any interested clubs meet City’s asking price of £25 million.
The club is also looking to add quality in the defensive midfield and centre back positions and has targeted Celtic’s £10 million rated Victor Wanyama.
